Dining Around Seattle by Susie Blake
A unique perspective of Seattle's Restaurant Scene given by a culinary school graduate and local personal chef.
Entry for February 21, 2008

Here we are!  My first offical Blog entry.  I am new to this whole thing but have been inspired recently by a book I read, "Bitter is the New Black" by Jennifer Lancaster.  She started venting her feeling via her blog and low and behold, a book deal came her way!

Now, I wouldn't say I am trying to sign a book deal anytime soon (unless perhaps a cookbook opportunity came my way).  One never knows...I just thought this would be a great place for me to talk about dining, cooking, and eating out around our fabulous city of Seattle.

Just for a brief introduction, I am a native to these parts, grew up on the eastside and have graduated from local schools and universities (if you call Pullman local).  I am very familiar with what once was and what now exists in the foodie scene here in Seattle.  Have we seen some changes?  Holy cow!

My boyfriend and I certainly have dined at our fair share of eating establishments around town and thought it would be fun to share our thoughts, albeit unscientific, with the public.

Some of our most recent experiences include, Mortons, Shiro's, and not to be missed, La Palma off 15th...the little eatery that we often pass but have never stopped.  I will share these experiences in my next few entries.  I am looking forward to sharing these ideas with the public.

Cheers!
